Atlanta Georgia Gateway to the American South





Atlanta was established in 1837 at the intersection of two railroad lines; the city rose from the ashes of the Civil War to become a national center of commerce and international prominence following the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. 




Atlanta is the Primary Rail Highway and Air Transport Hub of the American South
Centennial Olympic Park, site of the 1996 Olympic Games, provides a starting point for exploring Atlanta, and surrounding attractions. Zoo Atlanta exhibits more than 200 species from the African plains and Asian forests, including giant Pandas with their twin cubs, the Giraffe Feeding Terrace and one of North America’s largest captive gorilla populations.
Stone Mountain Park is a 3,200- acre attraction built around the world’s largest mass of exposed granite, and visit Crossroads, a recreated 1870’s Georgia town, which includes authentically costumed characters, music, shopping and restaurants. In the evening, check out the new 3D laser spectacular show which includes dazzling displays of neon laser lights, featuring characters, stories, graphics and fireworks choreographed to popular musical scores, transforming the park into a natural amphitheater.


Georgia Aquarium is the world’s largest with more than sixty exhibits that tell a global water story featuring whale sharks, beluga whales, touch tanks and a 4-D theater. See more than 100,000 animals from 500 species in more than 10 million gallons of water.
