A Walk Through History Alongside the Roman walls are the ancient town of Aemona and the medieval city with the Mestni, Stari, and Gornji squares (trg). In the shadows of the St Nicholas baroque Cathedral,  an opportunity to taste the local cuisine while visiting the Plečnik marketplace. Prešeren square presents the architectural style of the secession style buildings.
