Competition Rewarding Creative and Innovative Young Architects and Designers

The fifth InstantHouse competition awaits you at MADE expo
Milan Fairgrounds Rho – October 2 - 5, 2013

InstanthousE @ School

competition rewarding creative and innovative young architects and designers

MADE expo hosts InstantHouse, the competition to find the most novel approaches towards city living, promoted by FederlegnoArredo in association with DAStU, the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Politecnico di Milano.

Young people building a future for their peers: InstantHouse @ School is the title and theme of this year's competition to find the most innovative design for a kindergarten to accommodate children aged between 3 and 6. The competition hopes to encourage architectural research into the countless ways that children perceive and interpret the world around them, through the multi-sensory experience of space and architecture.

The challenge lies in coming up with a proposal that is affordable and well constructed as well as financially and socially sustainable.

The site is located at Via Ugo Betti, Milan (Italy), and the aim of the competition is to forge a link between nature and architecture, between indoors and outdoors: something indispensable for a nursery school that aims to create an organic relationship between children, nature and the city.

Participation in the InstantHouse @ School competition is free, and it is open to all recent graduates and students of architecture, engineering and Industrial Design.

Registrations for the 2013 competition open in May and entries may be made by individuals or temporary groups.

Registrations close at 12 noon on 3 June 2013, on the Instanthouse.it website.

The winning designs and other entries awarded a special mention by the Jury will be on show at MADE expo 2013.

A full-scale prototype of the winning entry will also be built at MADE expo, for the benefit of operators interested in the architectural originality, construction technique and economic value of the plan.
